What We Do
Tropicana administers a variety of programs and services in an effort to provide community members with opportunities and alternatives that lead to success and positive life choices.
To that end, Tropicana operates out of five main offices and a variety of satellite locations.

Many of Tropicana’s programs are facilitated at the main office. Attached to the main office is Tropicana’s Community Room which is outfitted with a stage, dance floor and full kitchen. The Community Room houses Defy Your Label and Weekends of Learning as well as countless productions and ceremonies.
AYCE Employment Services

Since 1998 Tropicana’s AYCE Employment Services has helped prepare youth and adults to meet the challenges of an ever-changing job market. The centre supports individuals through career exploration, job search and on-the-job training.

The daycare centre provides children between the ages of 3 months and 2 ½ years of age with a safe and enriching environment while encouraging growth and development in all areas: physical, emotional, social and intellectual.

ProTech Media Centre
Located in the Toronto Public Library’s Kennedy & Eglinton branch, the ProTech Centre offers free digital arts and technology skills training. The Centre provides neighbourhood residents of all ages with free access to state-of-the-art technology including digital arts (animation, web design, digital photography, audio and video editing) and Microsoft curricula and strives introduce youth to potential careers in new media while providing computer literacy skills and creating opportunities for self-expression. The Centre’s partners include Microsoft Canada, Tropicana Community Services, Toronto Public Library, City of Toronto, Centennial College and Renewed Computer.

Scarborough Youth Resource Centre (SYRC)

Located in the Scarborough Town Centre Shopping Mall, the SYRC is a drop-in centre that provides space and opportunities for all youth between the ages of 12 and 24. The range of activities and programs provided promote opportunities for personal development, employment, empowerment and a sense of community.
