Spirit of Christmas
Every Christmas season generous donors and volunteers with Tropicana’s Spirit of Christmas Food & Toy Drive bring joy and relief to hundreds of families for whom the season is a harsh reminder of their daily emotional and financial hardships.
The beneficiaries of Tropicana’s Spirit of Christmas Food & Toy Drive are current or recent clients who are registered for the drive by Tropicana staff because we know that they and their families will benefit from our assistance.
Each family receives a gift basket containing non-perishable staple foods such as rice and sugar, a supermarket Gift Card so that they can purchase foods of their own choice, age-appropriate, new, unopened children’s toys, and a small luxury Christmas gift such as chocolates.

Share your Christmas Spirit
You can make the difference for a family(s) registered in the drive. There are several ways that you can participate in Tropicana’s Spirit of Christmas drive, whether it is a personal donation or a group activity with your family, friends, workplace or community group:
- Donate supermarket gift cards
- Make a cash donation by cheque, cash or credit card
- Donate by credit card online at www.canadahelps.org. Simply select “Spirit of Christmas” from the drop down list.
- Donate new, unopened, unwrapped toys.
- Donate a gift basket containing supermarket gift cards, non-perishable, staple food items, a Christmas gift, and new, unopened, unwrapped toys

If you are donating food, gift cards or toys, you can bring your donation in to Tropicana’s Head Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, or in the evenings by arrangement. Due to limited resources, we are not usually able to collect donations and our offices are closed between Christmas and New Year.
We will recognize your support on our website and in our Annual Report (your right to privacy is respected) and we will issue charitable tax receipts for monetary donations of $20.00 and over, and for any items you have purchased with a value of $20.00 or more if you supply us with your original receipt.
